Only 4 Steps To Remember On How To Stop a Panic Attack : Stop My Panic

Stop My Panic

Article by Jason Darren

To stop a panic attack is pretty easy. All you have to do is stop the emergency message from being sent to your adrenal glands. Your panic attack will only last for a few minutes.

Whoops, I’m sorry I seemed to have jumped ahead a little. First thing maybe is to understand how a panic attack occurs in the first place.

You may already know that panic attacks are very common, and I’m not sure if that is comforting or a disturbing fact to hear. Maybe it’s both.Anyways, what is important is to understand the whole dynamics of these attacks and then once you know them, you can use them.I am not a Doctor, or a therapist, but I have experienced panic attacks before and now I am free of them because I learned the real nature of how they start and then how to end them.

Basically, a sudden rush of adrenaline going into your bloodstream causes symptoms that tend to make the sufferer feel like they are having a heart attack or actual death experience. A message from your brain sends a signal to the adrenal glands that there is an emergency, like a message of fear. The adrenal glands are very small in sized type organs that sit on top of your kidneys. These little pearl sized glands release adrenaline that charges up the body for emergency situations. This emergency response causes physical symptoms that many people misinterpret as a heart attack or other serious physical conditions. And like mistaking a heart attack this only adds to the fear response when feeling the symptoms.

About three minutes from the time that your brain sends the emergency signal until your body is fully adrenal with extra blood in your large arm and leg muscles and in your brain. Three minutes of extra blood going through your body like a turbo engine. As long as your adrenal glands keep getting an emergency message, they continue to produce and release additional adrenaline.

Your adrenal glands hold the adrenaline instead of releasing it and when your brain stops signaling an emergency, you calm yourself.

How do you stop that emergency message before it releases the adrenaline?

Four Steps:

1.Relax. Relax dammit!2.End negative thoughts.3.Use Coping Statements.4.Whatever you are feeling,just accept it.

Now lets break it down a little.

Step 1. Will You Just Relax.

Take complete breaths very slowly and relax Remember that you are only having a panic attack and nothing serious beyond this is happening to you. Keep taking slow, deep, complete breaths. Slow, deep, complete breaths will relax your body, which is the first step to reversing the release of adrenaline.

Step 2. Stop Negative Thinking.

Shout the word

panic attacks can be so annoying to deal with. No-one can say anything unless they have actually had one before. There’s no escape and you feel you are losing control, increased heart rate, etc. I have found anything can help, especially in large episodes. This has been around forever and can help:

Than you for this video. I have done hypnotherapy and it definitely helped me, never did NLP. Would be open to it though. I think I will also use hypnosis for the rest of my life for a variety of challenges and other things. It’s not the only thing that helped with my panic attacks but it definitely was a factor. Thank you again for this.

  • JustBeWell says:

Yes always get a medical check up first. If there isnt a physiological basis for the symptoms then NLP and hypnotherapy can be very effective to stop panic attacks.

  • CureYourAnxiety says:

It is also important to note that some symptoms of panic attacks may also be a sign of other medical condition. Hence, it is important to precisely pinpoint the cause of the symptoms in order know what type of treatment is necessary.
