How To Eliminate Anxiety From Your Life : Eliminate Anxiety

Eliminate anxiety

Article by John David

Up until 2007 I’d lived a very normal and very active life. I worked out at the gym, was busy in my daytime job and was also busy building a business in what little spare time I had. On top of that I’d recently gotten married and my wife and I were expecting our first baby. My life was going in pretty much the exact direction that I wanted it to – it was tiring but I was enjoying what I’d achieved so far in my life.

Then in 2007 I was hit with the double whammy of a really nasty viral infection and then I discovered that I had an anxiety disorder. Truth be told my viral infection had worn me out so much that I had an accident in my family bathroom that, in turn, caused me to have my first, and rather serious, anxiety attack. My problem was then made worse because the anxiety issue was misdiagnosed by several doctors and in the meantime I was suffering ongoing problems with anxiety attacks ruining my life. Modern science had made incredible leaps and bounds – surely they’d have a simple pill that I could take and the problem would go away?

My assumption about the advances medicine had made were entirely wrong – or at least wrong when it came to dealing with my anxiety disorder. There were lots of pills and tablets being prescribed for me but nothing seemed to be offering me anything close to a permanent solution and I simply couldn’t see why I should need to take medication for the rest of my life for this problem.

You see the thing is that experiencing anxiety is part of all of our normal physiological and psychological make-up. For most people anxiety is a small problem that crops up and then goes away almost as quickly. But anxiety can become a recurring problem and one that interferes with your day-to-day personal and working life. Anxiety takes many forms from the more subtle ones where you might be anxious in an elevator or in an underground car park. Or it could develop into the type of panic attacks where you’re almost housebound because everything and everyone winds up scaring you at some level.

If you’re reading this and nodding your head then I know exactly how you feel because at the height of my anxiety disorder I couldn’t see any way forward with this and I’d just about lost the will to keep living – there didn’t seem to be any hope from where I stood. A full recovery was exactly what I wanted and I knew it was possible but the same doctors that had misdiagnosed me had lost my trust so and to be honest I found it difficult to trust anyone.

Anxiety is like driving a car along the road and spotting a pothole. The more you stare at the pothole the more you veer towards it and anxiety is much the same – the more fear you attach to it the more strength it has over you. I truly wanted to be free of this problem and just as I was about to give up hope I discovered a solution that worked for me and I sincerely hope that it will be just as effective for you.
