Extreme stress can be caused by a variety of reasons, so understanding how to deal is not always easy. The most important and influential thing to consider is the individual person. People have highly variable and unpredictable responses to severe trauma. There is much known about the types of reactions, but how an individual will manifest them is not known. Two extreme differences in reactions are immediate responses and symptoms and highly delayed responses and symptoms. On the other hand, some individuals won’t show any negative signs or reactions to the same conditions. Quite a diverse picture we must say when it comes to dealing with extreme stress.It is usually overwhelming for people and resources that have to deal with any kind of disaster, which often happen fast and unexpectedly. Remember the undersea earthquake and tsunami that devastated northern Japan. In that example, extreme trauma and disaster were inflicted on thousands of people. Even though knowledge and a deeper understanding of In that case, seeking professional assistance of some kind can make a huge difference. Being proactive and doing something about it when the affected person becomes aware that something is wrong within gives them an upper hand. We know that extremely stressful events and the ability to cope with them can vary from person to person and it also relies on the type of event that happened. The intensity of the trauma as well as the nature of any possible loss will determine the length of time it will take for a reasonable recovery. The experience a person has with enduring stress can also play a vital role here. Learning to cope and recover should take less time for a person who has been in highly stressful situations before and was able to handle them well. Because of this, the person will already know ways to cope with the high or extreme stress.In general, a diverse but effective strategy would be adopting healthy and positive behaviors. This will make the person stronger and give them better coping skills to deal with extreme stress and trauma. Eating healthy, exercising regularly and getting enough sleep are positive lifestyle behaviors that are included in this kind of strategy. While there are many choices in these areas, some alternatives could be yoga, meditation and other effective techniques for relaxation. Because of the nature of traumatic events that can cause extreme stress, it will no doubt be suggested that professional treatment is the best advice. Choosing what they want to do, in most cases, is something that will be ultimately decided by the individual adult. It becomes a different story for young children and even teenagers because it is the responsibility of the parents to seek treatment for them.Probably the best advice that will be universally suggested is to get professional treatment due the type of traumatic events that cause the extreme stress.
