A panic attack is a discrete period of extreme fear or uneasiness, in which some of the following symptoms develop hurriedly and arrive at a peak within few minutes:
- Palpitations, throbbing heart, or accelerated heart tempo,
- Sweating
- Trembling or shaking
- Feeling wobbly, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint
- Realization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself)
- Fear of dropping management or going crazy
- Worry of dying
- Numbnessor ticklysensations
- Chills or sizzling flushes.
- Feelings of shortness of breath or smothering
- Feeling of choking
- Chest ache or uneasiness
- Nausea or stomachdistress
For those who do have panic disorder, though, it’s important to seek treatment. It can be tempting to follow a treatment plan until you see your symptoms disappear, only to fall into the same pattern of panic attack symptoms months later.
